Position: Small Business Banker | Division: Retail Bank Management| Work Days: Monday - Friday| Hours of Operation: 8:00am - 5:00pm

Position Overview: The Small Business Banker is responsible for supporting small business clients by assisting with account openings, loan packages, and treasury management solutions while also engaging in business development activities. This role blends administrative functions with sales responsibilities to enhance customer relationships and drive business growth. The Small Business Banker will work closely with financial center teams and business banking partners to ensure high-quality service and tailored financial solutions for small business clients. Essential Functions: Administrative & Support Functions:
- Assist
with account openings, loan application processing, and gathering required financial documentation. - Process
and track loan workflows from approval to funding, ensuring compliance with banking policies. - Review
loan documentation for accuracy and adherence to approved terms. - Support
post-closing requirements, including follow-ups on outstanding conditions. - Address
client inquiries, process transactions, and assist with resolving service issues. - Manage
past-due accounts and coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely resolution. - Provide
treasury management support, including setting up business accounts and online banking services.
Sales & Relationship Management:
- Maintain
regular contact with small business clients to provide financial guidance and support their growth. - Conduct
financial reviews to assess client needs and recommend banking solutions, including credit, deposit, and treasury products. - Develop
and maintain strong relationships through networking, client outreach, and community involvement. - Proactively
identify cross-selling opportunities and refer clients to other banking partners as needed. - Support
business development initiatives, including lead generation and client acquisition efforts. - This position may require travel within the Bank's geographic area.
Experience & Education:
- 3-5 years of experience in Financial Services to include Consumer, Business or Private Banking.
- Exceptional client service and phone skills .
- Extensive knowledge in credit, deposit and treasury products and a broad understanding of operational processes.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong understanding of loan documentation, procedures and policies.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to make independent decisions.
- Experience in identifying client needs, reviewing analysis statements, and cross selling bank products.
- Strong interpersonal skills
with the ability to work in a team environment.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.
- Proficiency in relevant software and systems (e.g., Sageworks, documentation tools).
- Previous experience in a client-facing or administrative support role is preferred.
- Client-focused with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Collaborative and able to work effectively with internal teams.
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy.
Other Requirements:
- Register and maintain registry as a Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) and Registry and in accordance with the Secure and Fair enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act (the S.A.F.E. Act).
- Meet and maintain financial responsibility, character and general fitness standards along with all other established requirements for an individual Loan Originator in accordance with Regulation Z.
- Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull weights or otherwise move objects weighing as much as 10 lbs. on a regular basis and/or for extended periods of time during the workday.
- Occasional overtime or extended hours may be required.
