Associate Director, Actuarial Services - 2287456 EMPLOYER: United HealthCare Services, Inc. JOB TITLE: Associate Director, Actuarial Services LOCATION: 1 Health Drive, Eden Prairie, MN 55344 (Telecommuting available from anywhere in the U.S.) DUTIES: Analyze statistical data, such as mortality, accident, sickness, disability, and retirement rates and construct probability tables to forecast risk and liability for payment of future benefits; Compute reserves and other actuarial items to support UnitedHealthCare financial reporting; Incorporate traditional actuarial expertise into novel, cutting edge actuarial solutions; Calculate monthly actuarial claim reserves for GAAP, Statutory and Tax reporting; Lead actuarial analysts in developing data to support claim reserves and assumption development; manage workload and career development of actuarial analysts; Develop Statutory and GAAP reporting exhibits with appropriate auditable documentation; Collaborate with Pricing Actuaries to understand financial impacts of new product ideas; Work in a cross-functional team with accounts, IT, and Pricing to ensure that financial results are produced correctly and on time; Communicate clearly about changes to claim reserve amount and issues affecting claim reserve calculations.. Telecommuting available from anywhere in the U.S. REQUIREMENTS: Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field and five (5) years of progressive post baccalaureate experience in the job offered or a related computer occupation. Position requires five (5) years of progressive post baccalaureate experience in the following: * Developing and implementing actuarial models to estimate reserves under various methods, including incurred but not reported (IBNR) reserves; Position requires an Associate certification from the Society of Actuaries.
