The Sports Medicine Physical Therapist works under the general supervision of the Director of Sports and Ambulatory Rehab and direct supervision of the Rehabilitation Manager. The Physical Therapist evaluates and treats patients in accordance with the laws and rules that govern the practice of physical therapy in the state of Ohio. Although team members report directly to a rehab manager, they are also responsible to each other, to those they supervise (Physical Therapist Assistants and Athletic Trainers), and to other participants included in the patient care activities.

Each Rehabilitation Team Member is first a part of a group effort to provide care within a continuous performance improvement environment, and secondly, a distinct professional who provides specific contributions to the team approach. Team members assess patients and establish together plans of care; provide a wide variety of treatment techniques; provide education and support to families; and facilitate continuing care planning. Team members evaluate the quality of services and participate in outcomes management activities

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited school or equivalent combination of education or experience. Currently licensed in the state of Ohio as a Physical Therapist. 0 years of relevant experience required. 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.

This position is full-time at Sports Med Rehab at RPAC, located on the central OSU campus. Unique responsibilities and requirements of this position include:

  • Dual credentialed as an Athletic Trainer, ABPTS board certification in sports, completion of a certified EMR course or EMT-B course
  • Coverage of athletic events for various high-risk sport clubs (17 potential clubs), injury checks
  • Strengthening the relationship with OSU campus partners: OSU Recreational Sports, OSU Department of Dance, OSU Marching Band, OSU ROTC
  • Assist with referral pathways to OSU campus partners
  • Ability to work evening hours and weekends for both clinic and outreach coverage during the academic calendar year
