Athletic Training Supervisor, Sports Medicine Outreach

OSU Sports Medicine is a multi-disciplinary outpatient program that provides health care for athletes and physically active people of all abilities. OSU Sports Medicine programs include physician services, rehabilitation services, athletic training, sports psychology, sports performance, nutrition, education and research programs, and community outreach programs. The Athletic Training Supervisor, Sports Medicine Outreach assists with oversight of outreach staff and works collaboratively with the other members of the Sports Medicine leadership teams and staff to achieve the OSU Wexner Medical Center, OSU Sports Medicine mission and visions.

Primary responsibilities include the supervision of the daily operational activities of Outreach Athletic trainers within their region, up to approximately 15 FTE. This position also supports Outreach Leadership with the development, implementation and management of outreach activities for affiliated organizations with OSU Sports Medicine including secondary schools, community programs, tactical programs, DIII collegiate, and recreational or club sports. This position is also responsible for directly providing outreach athletic training, including but not limited to, practice and event coverage, emergency action planning, patient care, and care coordination.

The Athletic Training Supervisor, Sports Medicine Outreach directly manages and integrates athletic training services and related clinical program and personnel to ensure integration of services as appropriate, particularly around the three-part mission directed at our school and community partnerships. The position works closely with Outreach Leadership and reports directly to Director of Sports Medicine Outreach, and in a patient care support role, works under the supervision of physicians. Additionally, the position entails serving in a leadership capacity overseeing ongoing quality improvement initiatives as needed.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training and/or related health science field required. State of Ohio Athletic Trainer license and National Athletic Trainers' Association certification. 3 years of relevant experience required. 4-8 years of relevant experience preferred.
