Scope of Position The Nuclear Medicine/ PET Division encompasses imaging rooms located in University Hospital, East Hospital, and The James Cancer Hospital. The imaging rooms consist of state of the art PET/CTs, and SPECT/CT cameras. The Nuclear Medicine/PET Imaging technologist works closely with radiologists, referring physicians, and clinical scientists to provide high quality imaging for the care and treatment of our patients. Position Summary The Nuclear Medicine/PET Imaging Technologist performs nuclear medicine In vivo and In vitro procedures using sophisticated radiation-detecting instrumentation (including SPECT and PET), accomplishes computer processing and image enhancement, and provides images, data analysis, and patient information to the physician for diagnostic and therapeutic interpretation, under the direction of the Nuclear Medicine Radiologists, Nuclear Medicine/PET Imaging Supervisor, and Imaging Services Leadership. Minimum Qualifications For Hire: Certification and active registration in Nuclear Medicine Technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-N) and/or the Nuclear Medicine Technologist Certification Board (NMTCB) required. Licensure in Radiologic Technology (Nuclear Medicine) by the State of Ohio Department of Health required. Graduate of accredited Nuclear Medicine program required. On going: Maintains registry and/or certification amp; licensing status; meets mandatory continuing education and health surveillance requirements. Demonstrates competence in technical, interpersonal, and cognitive skills required to meet essential job functions. |
