Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN to join our team. This team member will support our patients on weekdays. Eligible Nurses will qualify for sign on & relocation bonuses. Full-Time. Schedule Options: Three 12hr shifts per week (7a-7p) OR Two 8hr shifts + two 12hr shifts per week. On-call required. Operating Room Registered Nurse Responsibilities:
- Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting, data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships.
- Formulates individualized plans of care based upon assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.
- Supports and empowers patients and families as they progress through the healthcare continuum from health promotion to end of life decisions.
- Advocates for patients' rights from the patient/family perspective and provides counsel and acts as a resource to resolve issues.
- Anticipates ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients/families and assists staff in assessing patients' learning needs.
Operating Room Registered Nurse Requirements:
- Experience: Requires a minimum of 1 year of direct Operating Room (OR) experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Education: BSN or ADN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate's Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
- License: Must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
- Certification: Basic Life Support with American Heart Association.
Preferred Experience & Certification:
- Experience with the following cases: Ortho, Neuro/Spine, Robotics & Trauma
- Circulating and scrubbing experience
- AORN's Periop 101 curriculum completion and/or CNOR
