Position Summary
The Director of Strategic Project Management works under the direction of the VP of Client Experience and Strategy and assures leading, planning, and executing complex technical projects that support the strategic objectives of the company. The Director performs, designs and oversees the project management framework to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery with cross functional teams to drive alignment, efficiency, and continuous improvement. This position is expected to have the ability to multitask several projects and initiatives simultaneously within their department, and primarily works remotely, with occasional travel as directed.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE
* Develop, implement, and refine the organization's project management methodology, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives
* Oversee the lifecycle of multiple concurrent projects from inception to completion, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery
* Work closely with executive leadership to define project scope, goals, and deliverables that align with strategic priorities
* Establish and monitor project quality standards in alignment with healthcare technology compliance requirements
* Implement continuous improvement processes by leveraging data-driven insights and industry best practices
* Evaluate project management tools and software solutions, recommending and implementing technologies to streamline workflows
* Drive process automation and innovation to enhance project outcomes and overall departmental efficiency
* When assigned, assists with quality assurance assessments, and drives continuous
improvement actions for compliance with the Medical Equipment Management Program
and ISO13485
Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Healthcare Management, or a related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
* Lead a team of Project Managers, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance evaluations
* Recruit and onboard new team members, promoting professional development opportunities to enhance departmental capabilities
* Prioritizes training and development opportunities for team members
* Build retention through community and morale building actions and behaviors
* Manage disciplinary issues and other employee relations concerns with guidance from Human Resources and executive leadership
* Complete annual employee performance evaluations, competency assessments, training plans, and merit increases on a timely basis
* Collaborate across departments to refine programs and improve operational execution, ensuring that client feedback is continuously integrated into service delivery
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
* Perform other duties as assigned that are intrinsic to the successful operation of the business
* Present project updates, performance metrics, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and clients
* Collaborate with Sales and Operations to gather requirements, mitigate risks, and optimize results
* Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation and timely reporting of financial status
* Negotiate contracts with vendors, service providers, and consultants, optimizing spending and maintaining high service quality
* Track and report project financial performance to senior leadership.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Admin. Healthcare Management. 7 years Exp.in Large projects in Healthcare Technology.
