In this County Social Services Aide 2 position, you will provide in-home and community-based support to families and children involved with Wayne County Children & Youth Services. Your primary focus will be promoting family stability and child well-being by offering direct assistance in budgeting, parenting education, household management, supervised visitation, and emergency childcare. This may include providing transportation to essential appointments.

You will also participate in case planning, community outreach, and resource coordination. Additional duties include supporting agency operations, maintaining records, and assisting with seasonal and charitable programs. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
• Possible after-hours appointments for supervised visitation and transportation.
• Possible travel requiring overnight stays.
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year as a County Social Services Aide 1; or
• Graduation from high school, or its equivalency, and two years of experience in public contact work in a human services agency which included one year of experience in interviewing and obtaining information; or
• An associate's degree in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

• You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

• You must pass a background investigation.
• A conditional offer of employment will require a drug screening.
• This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
  • Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
