The targeted hiring range for this full-time position is $67,900 - $91,600 depending on qualifications; however, the expanded salary range provides opportunities for advancement. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and job location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, competencies, experience, and relevant education, training or a combination of these things and market demand. Job Description

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

The role of Sourcing Manager is a critical function which manages relationships with suppliers that provide materials and products for Red Wing Shoe Company. The Sourcing Manager is a critical player managing a robust supply chain to enable a competitive advantage for the company while reducing risk, managing supplier performance, and identifying cost savings. This position works cross-functionally throughout the organization, including procurement, product development and quality teams to mitigate supplier material risk and provide the highest value to RWSC.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and manage supply base to support both current and new product development and production phases.
  • Work directly with key suppliers to develop and implement sourcing and cost management strategies.
  • Monitor and report on global industry trends and material availability to work cross-functionally with the design and product development teams to identify/mitigate supply and demand challenges.
  • Partner with internal resources to drive cost savings opportunities and price increases/cost avoidance.
  • Conduct comprehensive supplier analysis, including supplier site visits, in order to assess operational capability, financial health, and capacity, fit for RWSC's strategic direction, capacity, market and industry position.
  • Present value proposition, including those related to contract negotiation and award, cost reviews, cost reduction strategies and critical supply issues.
  • Evaluate and improve supplier performance scorecard ratings through review of supplier performance metrics and internal feedback to ensure suppliers meet expectations of delivery, quality, cost and service.
  • Analyze, manage, and resolve discrepancies between PO, receipts, and invoices working with suppliers, warehouse personnel and finance.
  • Monitor back-order reports with buyers on a weekly basis to expedite orders and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and visit supplier sites as appropriate.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and six years related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Supply chain leadership experience including strategic sourcing, purchasing, contract negotiation and cross-functional dependencies (knowledge of footwear terms and processes a plus).
  • Experience negotiating best pricing and terms to ensure that Red Wing Shoe's commodity pricing meets expectations, quality, and on-time delivery preferred.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to adjust to the audience.
  • Strong collaboration skills.
  • Drive for results and superior execution.
  • Systems savvy including Microsoft Office and MRP (Infor M3 preferred).
  • Strong analytical Skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with others and work effectively with cross functional teams.
  • Continuous improvement skills and ability to lead change.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving environment.
