POSITION OVERVIEW

Milliken & Company is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to join our Laurel Plant in Gainesville, Florida. As a key member of the plant management team, the HR Manager will lead all human resources functions, ensuring alignment with company goals and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role oversees recruitment, training, employee relations, payroll administration, and compliance, while fostering a culture of excellence and engagement across all levels of the organization.

The HR Manager will report directly to the Senior Director of Human Resources in Spartanburg, SC, and will have two direct reports. This position requires strong leadership and collaboration skills to partner effectively with associates at all levels.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a role model and strategic partner for all levels of the organization.
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes.
  • Oversee personnel file maintenance, disciplinary processes, attendance tracking, and compliance with labor laws.
  • Administer FMLA tracking and management.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations, including I-9 verification and workplace postings.
  • Act as a liaison between Chemical Manufacturing and Corporate Human Resources.
  • Manage various HR reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with payroll teams to handle absence tracking, holiday scheduling, and benefits administration.
  • Maintain recruiting data in Milliken's E-Recruiting database.
  • Occasionally travel overnight to support other Milliken Chemical locations as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Human Resources Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS - PREFERRED

  • 8 + years of experience in HR, including people management
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification.
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment (preferably chemical manufacturing).
  • Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of HR practices in the chemical industry or manufacturing environment.

  • Project & Change Management: Driving HR initiatives, developing plans, setting milestones, and managing outcomes.
  • Relationship Building: Collaborating across teams, managing interpersonal dynamics, and constructively resolving conflicts.
  • Decision-Making & Business Acumen: Applying strong judgment and communication skills to HR strategies.
  • Financial Metrics & Analysis: Understanding HR-related financial considerations.
