POSITION TITLE

Laurel Plant - Engineering Services Manager

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Engineering Services Manager will lead the Maintenance Department and ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of all plant equipment, utility systems, and infrastructure. This role plays a key part in driving reliability, continuous improvement, and maintenance excellence in a chemical manufacturing environment. The position requires a strategic leader with deep technical knowledge and experience in preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) methodologies.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure proper maintenance and reliable operation of all process equipment, utility systems, buildings, and infrastructure.

  • Lead multi-year capital and maintenance project planning.

  • Prioritize and execute continuous improvement to reduce unplanned downtime and maintenance costs.

  • Manage both internal and contracted resources to achieve department goals.

  • Oversee hiring, development, and performance management of all maintenance personnel.

  • Translate business and customer requirements into actionable capital and expense projects.

  • Identify and mitigate safety risks in project design and implementation.

  • Lead department safety initiatives and ensure full compliance with OSHA, PSM, and environmental regulations.

  • Promote active participation in site-wide safety and quality programs.

  • Ensure adherence to Milliken Quality Policy, SOPs, ISO 9000 standards, and other company policies.

QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering.

  • Minimum 10 years of maintenance experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience supervising and managing associates in a plant setting.

  • Proven background in preventive, predictive, or reliability-centered maintenance (RCM).

  • Strong knowledge of environmental, OSHA, and PSM regulations.

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.

The successful candidate will have strengths in the following:

  • Experience in chemical plant operations.

  • Familiarity with industrial construction methods and practices.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills across all organizational levels.

  • Ability to drive strategy while managing day-to-day operations effectively.
