Summary

User Experience Designer | Digital Experience

Are you passionate about creating intuitive, engaging, and user-centered digital experiences? We're looking for a User Experience Designer to play a key role in shaping how users interact with our products and services.


What You'll Do:

  • Design Intuitive Interfaces: Develop user-centric workflows and interfaces that adhere to accessibility standards and UX best practices.
  • Conduct User Research and Testing: Perform usability testing, analyze feedback and performance metrics, and iterate on designs to optimize user satisfaction.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with stakeholders, developers, and product managers to create and integrate cohesive UI architectures. Utilize tools to deliver conceptual diagrams, wireframes, and both high- and low-fidelity prototypes.
  • Maintain Design Consistency: Establish and evolve design systems to ensure a uniform experience across all applications and services.
  • Champion User-Centric Design: Advocate for the adoption of user-focused principles while leveraging AI-driven innovations to enhance satisfaction and usability.
  • Stay Ahead of the Curve: Continuously explore advancements in AI/ML and emerging tools to elevate and refine design solutions.


What You Bring:

  • Experience in UX/UI design, user research, and prototyping.
  • Strong skills in creating sitemaps, journey maps, and interactive wireframes.

Minimum Requirements

User Experience Designer | Digital Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in business, a quantitative discipline (engineering, economics, mathematics) or related Business field
  • AND seven (7) years process improvement, management consulting, change management, or related functional area work experience of which three (3) yearsexperience must be in UX. design.
  • Expertise in standard UX software such as Sketch, OmniGraffle, Axure, InVision, UXPin, Balsamiq, Framer, Illustrator, AdobeXD, Zeplin etc.
  • Ability to work with clients to understand detailed requirements and design complete user experiences that meet client needs and vision.
  • Experience in using UX design best practices to design solutions.
  • A solid grasp of user-centered design, planning and conducting user research, user testing, A/B testing, rapid prototyping, heuristic analysis, usability and accessibility concerns.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have experience designing complex solutions for complete digital environments.
  • Some knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and standards impacting business unit areas.
  • Proficient in one or more data management tools.



Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications



  • Graduate degree in business, or relevant technical discipline.
  • Prior utility experience a plus.
  • Experience designing complex solutions for complete digital environments.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and standards impacting business unit areas

Major Accountabilities

1) Facilitate the Product Owner's product vision by researching, conceiving, sketching, prototyping and user testing experiences for digital products.

2) Generate design concepts, participate in design discussions and critiques, and collaborative sessions with teams and stakeholders.

3) Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mock-ups and prototypes for usability testing and review, that lead to intuitive user experiences

4) Design and deliver wireframes, user stories, user journeys, and mock-ups optimized for a wide range of devices and interfaces

5) Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions using Design Thinking/User Centered Design practices.

6) Make strategic design and user-experiences decisions related to core, and new, functions and features

7) Utilize a user-centered design approach and rapidly tests and iterates designs. Modify designs based on feedback from the team and user to ideate and improve end products

8) Analyzing user feedback and activity, and iterating to enhance the user experience

9) Collaborate with Product Owner, stakeholders, and other team members to ensure a comprehensive and user friendly solution, which exceeds the needs of your user

10) Provide the necessary communication and change management to ensure adoption and product success

Home Based: Home based employees primarily work from their home offices and come into an APS facility on an as-needed basis.

*Employees are expected to reside in Arizona (or New Mexico for Four Corners-based employees).
