Shared Services: HRM Employee Relations (Full-Time, Day Shift) - Job Summary: The Employee Relations Specialist Sr manages and resolves employee relations issues, facilitates compliance with company policies and employment laws, and fosters a positive work environment. Works closely with employees and management to address concerns, mediate conflicts, and promote a culture of fairness and respect. Conducts thorough investigations into employee complaints and grievances; documents findings and recommend appropriate actions; and responses to EEOC/DFEH and Labor Commission charges. Provides training on employee relations topics to managers and other HRM staff as appropriate. Performs other duties as needed. Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Management, Business Administration or a Juris Doctorate is required. Master's degree preferred. Minimum five years employee experience relations required; including at least two years' experience conducting workplace investigations, drafting workplace investigation summaries and responding to EEO charges. Knowledge and Skills: In-depth knowledge of employment law required. Able to train and create presentations. Able to read, write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Operate/troubleshoot basic office equipment required for the position. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; employ conflict resolution and de-escalation tactics; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision; exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills; and handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality. Able to distinguish colors as necessary; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone, and identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace; see adequately to read computer screens, and written documents necessary to the position. Licensures and Certifications: PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP or AWI certification preferred. Our mission is to continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ.
