Under minimal supervision, directs and coordinates pre-service insurance and patient financial clearance processes. This includes insurance verification and patient financial counseling functions associated with emergency, inpatient, outpatient, elective inpatient, and outpatient surgery services, performed by Henry Ford Health hospitals and facilities. Protects the integrity of the hospital accounts receivable and respects the privacy of patients. Assist Leadership with interviewing new hires and orientating and providing training to all employees. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or GED required. Three (3) years of experience related to patient admitting, registration and/or insurance eligibility and verification in a hospital or medical office setting required. Revenue Cycle super-users and subject matter experts. Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Experience providing constructive coaching and feedback to co-workers in a positive manner preferred. Experience influencing others to achieve team goals; interacting in ways that bring out the best in others; keeping team members in an upbeat mode; encouraging cooperation, pride, well-being and trust within the group.
