InsightFS is headquartered in Jefferson, Wisconsinwith 23 branches across the state and upper peninsula of Michigan. Insight FS has 430+ employees (including seasonal workers) and approximately 50,000 customers. The cooperative does business in agronomy, agri-finance, precision agriculture, nutrient management, energy, feed, grain, and turf. InsightFS is part of the GROWMARK System, an agricultural cooperative serving more than 100,000 customers across North America and Ontario, Canada. PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT Provides management, supervision, and leadership of the sales and operations teams within the feed and grain division including personnel, scheduling, logistics, product handling, and customer satisfaction. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, profitability and evaluation of all feed and grain locations. SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP Supervises and develops Feed Sales & Marketing Manager, Grain Marketing Manager and Production & Logistics Manager. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Responsible for the profitability of the feed and grain department through target marketing, competitive analysis, pricing strategies, continual management and evaluation of people and structure, managing fixed assets and inventories. Provides leadership to the feed and grain department by setting performance expectations, managing sales activities, and serving as a communication and public relations link to the company. Develops and implements marketing programs and logistics strategies in conjunction with the feed and grain leadership team and marketing communication team. Facilitates internal and external communication and collaboration efforts between the sales, logistics and procurement teams. Develops products sales forecasts, expense budgets and capital expenditure projections that support the growth and profitability strategies of the feed and grain department. Provides direction and develops plans to comply with state and federal requirements on environmental issues, D.O.T. regulations, FSMA regulations and supports the company safety culture. Directs preparation of accounting records. Coordinates and conducts safety training for all employees in conjunction with the EHS&I team at Insight FS and GROWMARK. Recommends or approves budget, expenditures, and appropriations for product departments. Reviews market analysis to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and discount rates. Understands and assists in the contracting of product lines. Explores and develops new technology and techniques to improve the efficiency and customer service of the feed and grain department. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS Develops beneficial relationships with required vendors. Recruits, selects, and retains quality personnel. Trains, coaches, counsels, and disciplines employees to develop individual talents. Supports and contributes to total company goals and objectives through collaboration efforts. Conducts and assists with training and informational meetings. Responsible for interpreting marketing reports, technical information and other market data to effectively disseminate information & recommendations to customers. Develops relationships with various trade associations. Effectively supports, implements and lives out the FS Way Service Excellence Standards. Performs all other duties as assigned. Follows GROWMARK's Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply. REQUIREMENTS Normally requires a Bachelor's Degree in a business or agriculture related field, or the equivalent thereof, and 10 years or more of related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of planning, organization, problem solving, project management and computer proficiency. Demonstrated success of organizational leadership and communication strategies. Utilizes technology including Microsoft offices programs and proprietary software to enhance business processes. Prefer an understanding of the GROWMARK System including the Divisions' operations. Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record. Ability to work extended hours as business conditions warrant. Ability to travel independently and overnight.
