Job Summary The Assistant Director for Graduate Admissions serves as a primary contact for prospective students and their families, advisors, and other individuals and organizations involved in the graduate program selection process. The Assistant Director interacts and builds relationships with prospective students and their families through various channels and explains the benefits of a Drexel University graduate education.
The Assistant Director counsels accepted students through the enrollment process to facilitate a smooth transition to Drexel. Part of the Assistant Director's portfolio will include travel, with an expectation to travel weekly during peak travel season. The Assistant Director should have basic knowledge of software and CRM systems used in the Enrollment Management process.
This position will assume responsibility for planning, coordinating and supervising specific programs or projects, as assigned. In addition, the successful candidate will participate in recruitment events which may include evening and weekend hours, and as needed provide support for large-scale events University events.
This is a hybrid position with expectation to work in the office several times a week. Essential Functions
- Serve as a primary contact for prospective students and their families, advisors, and other individuals and organizations involved in the college selection process at the graduate level.
- Manage aspects of the graduate school recruitment process: identifying prospects, managing the application funnel, generating applications from leads, and internal and external relationship management throughout the entire application cycle, across multiple departments at the University.
- Interact with prospective students and their families during individual meetings to build relationships, answer questions, and explain the benefits of a Drexel University graduate education.
- Recruit prospective students through attendance at and travel to college fairs, conferences, professional organization events, community events, employer partner-organizations and virtual fairs within a designated program vertical.
- Counsel accepted students through the enrollment process.
- Assist in planning and implementing the student recruitment plan for specific admissions programs or projects.
- Work closely with campus partners reviewing programing, communications, and recruiting strategies for a specific College/School within a programmatic vertical.
- Correspond and/or meet with prospective students, applicants, their families, and others seeking information on admission standards, academic and non-academic programs and student activities.
- Attend receptions, forums and corporate presentations to enhance recruitment efforts.
- Communicate regularly with campus partners for strategic alignment of College/ School goals and EMSS.
- Manage individual budget and logistics around travel and event planning.
- Evaluate post event data for effectiveness and future planning and presenting findings to campus constituents.
- Work within multiple record-keeping systems to ensure accurate and updated information on prospects, applicants, and event metrics.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in higher education, preferably in admissions.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Ability to travel weekly during peak travel season.
- Valid Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated understanding of graduate student motivations and adult learning models.
- Experience using a CRM such as Slate or Salesforce.

Additional Information This position is classified as Exempt, grade J. Compensation for this grade ranges from $47,490 - $71,230 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
