The successful candidate will provide leadership and technical expertise to identify, resolve, and eliminate quality issues and problems. Primary focus will be to work with assigned manufacturing departments on quality related issues.

The Role

Amphenol Aerospace Operations is seeking a Quality Engineer to work out of its brand new, state-of-the-art facility in Mesa, AZ to provide leadership and technical expertise to identify, resolve and eliminate quality issues and problems. Primary focus will be to work with assigned manufacturing departments on quality related issues. Will also supplement Senior Quality Engineers assigned to Business Units. Must understand and apply all types of quality and engineering documents, specifications, drawings, reports and forms, current quality practices, and engineering terminology..

The key responsibilities of this Quality Engineer include, but are not limited to:



  • Coordinate and maintain internal audits schedules in accordance with ISO9001/AS9100 Quality Management System and standards and Amphenol polices.
  • Assess Amphenol business processes, systems, and products through the internal audit program to assure compliance to customer requirements, Amphenol procedures, and policies and ISO9001/AS9100 standards.
  • Measure and monitor management system data and reports to management on quality system compliance status and improvement initiatives.
  • Initiate change request of management system procedures, policies, and internal audit checklist and leads implementation efforts.
  • Proven expertise in leading Corrective Actions and continuous improvement within the QMS framework
  • Communicate with government customers on management system data/status and provides management system insight through internal and 3rd party audit observations.
  • Investigate and disposition Customer Returns involving product from your area of responsibility.
  • Work extensively with Amphenol's computer system, both the AS400 main frame and the local PC network. Utilize Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Data3 software.
  • Occasionally travel to customers to resolve, or explain prevention of, cited quality issues.

The Person

The key skills and qualities of a Quality Engineer at Amphenol Aerospace Operations:



  • Four-year engineering degree
  • Knowledge of statistical methods
  • Computer fluency
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Also preferred: some applicable experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
