Redmond, WA 40 hours/week
Join our team at Terex/Genie and embark on an exciting opportunity as we seek a skilled and dedicated Buyer II to contribute to the Redmond Operations Materials team.

About the Position:

Assures the spare parts department receives quality parts/services on-time to the point-of-use. Performs specialized and technical duties associated with the purchase, delivery, quality, and packaging of materials, equipment and services for the company's spare parts division. Coordinates material flow, conversion of vendors to Genie material management systems, and timely distribution of materials.

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will be dependent on business needs and might be tailored to individual strengths and interests. However, you can expect to -

  • Maintain supplier relationships working to improve lead time, cost, quality and delivery

  • Research, contact, and select potential vendors to receive proposals for price, quality, and timeliness of delivery, make independent judgement on purchases up to authorized dollar limits and specifications, recommends current and/or new vendors, convey delivery, inventory, and quality goals to vendors

  • Work closely with parts sales to understand customer requirements

  • Procure urgent materials through the most effective means, considering quality, availability, cost, delivery time, and probability of continued support

  • Participate with other materials team members to evaluate purchasing agreements and contracts, recommend changes and consolidations that contribute to manufacturing's requirements and support just-in-time philosophy

  • Develop and maintains long-term productive relationships with vendors, develop communication and feedback links, establish and maintain a network of information flow and reporting

  • Maintain up-to-date understanding of the latest thinking in concepts such as total quality management, lean thinking, single piece flow, and just-in-time

  • Assist in reviewing, revising and originating purchase specifications

  • Research and evaluate material usage that establishes ordering criteria to assure adequate but not excessive inventory on hand, appliy historical usage trends plus backlog information to forecast procurement needs, communicate same with vendors

  • Understand vendor capacity and limitations to ensure that Genie business is a reasonable portion of vendor's total

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 plus years of related experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in manufacturing
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1-3 Years prior experience expediting and procuring parts
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Access application experience a plus
  • Project management skills are a plus
  • Lean and process mapping experience a plus
  • Licenses and Certificates - CPM preferred

Salary Range:

  • The base salary for this position is $78,000 USD. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for a 3% performance bonus. Compensation changes throughout/at end of program provided meeting performance expectations.
