Professor of the Practice

The Language Technologies Institute (LTI) at Carnegie Mellon University is seeking a deeply experienced professional to serve as a Professor of the Practice (PotP). The PotP will provide instruction in the areas of entrepreneurship and commercialization for students at Carnegie Mellon, offering multiple courses through LTI and the School of Computer Science. This full-time role will include course design or redesign, delivery of lectures, leading classroom discussions, design and grading of assignments, quizzes and exams, coaching for individual students or groups of students, and fostering a healthy and productive learning environment for students of all backgrounds. The incumbent PotP should be prepared to provide a wealth of examples from practice outside of academia to enrich the learning experience and build confidence among students. We encourage all instructors to incorporate emerging learning methods and technologies into the learning experience, and will expect the PotP to excel both at developing/deploying novel delivery techniques and at incorporating cutting edge content.
