About the Role

The Project Engineer will play a crucial role in the successful execution of construction projects. This position requires a thorough understanding of construction documents, including drawings, specifications, contracts, and change orders. The Project Engineer will collaborate with the Project Superintendent and Project Manager to write Requests for Information (RFIs), process submittals, manage Procore tools, assist with bidding processes, report on project performance, and handle closeout documentation. Additionally, the Project Engineer will conduct site/safety orientations, update construction schedules, manage administrative tasks, complete required training, and ensure compliance with all standards and regulations.

Construction Document Management

  • Develops knowledge of construction documents and writes RFIs.
  • Processes submittals and manages approvals.

Procore Tools Management

  • Manages Procore tools including documents and drawings.

Bidding Process Assistance

  • Assists with bidding processes and creates bid packages.

Project Performance Reporting

  • Reports on project performance through various mechanisms.

Closeout Process

  • Assists with project closeout documentation.

Site/Safety Orientations

  • Conducts site/safety orientations for new vendors.

Construction Schedule Updates

  • Updates weekly construction schedules.

Administrative Tasks

  • Manages project-related administrative tasks.

Training and Compliance

  • Completes required training and ensures compliance with standards and regulations.

What You'll Need

Education and Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • OSHA 10-hour and 30-hour certification preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
  • FAA Drone Certification a plus.

Experience

  • Experience in construction project management or related field preferred
  • Multi-family construction experience preferred.
  • Experience with Procore tools and construction document management.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong knowledge and understanding of pre-construction reports, construction documents, drawings and specifications, construction means, methods and materials preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Experience in Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, and Dropbox preferred. Proficiency in Procore tools and software preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking, problem-solving and administrative skills.
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills combined with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow complex oral and written instruction.
  • Ability to be proactive, independent and a self-starter.
  • Strong dependability, flexibility, and teamwork.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively within the organization.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Reliable transportation for travel to multiple project sites, as needed.

Estimated Rate of Pay:

$71,176.96 - $92,530.04

This position is exempt; the range above reflects annual salary.

The pay range displayed for this position is determined by skills and experience required, location and job complexity*. Potential job offers may vary based on the skills, education, and experience an individual candidate holds. This range reflects base rate only, and does not include allowances, perks, commissions or bonuses applicable to this position (if any). In addition to base salary, Fairfield offers all full time associates the following, upon meeting eligibility requirements:
