Job Title: SVP & Director of SBA Department: SBA Loan Center We are looking for SVP & Director of SBA to join our SBA Loan Center team. The Director of SBA will be responsible for the production of SBA loans, establishing the policies and procedures, and maintaining credit quality in the portfolio under their review. This role will also be responsible for overseeing the loan officers and processors within their group ensuring underwriting and documentation meets lending guidelines and compliance requirements. Key Responsibilities:
- Solicit and acquire new clients and expand client relationships.
- Visit with clients and prospective clients regularly; interview and analyze the client's business and recommend products and services.
- Participate as a member of senior management to establish production goals and strategies; oversee employee communication efforts to ensure understanding of the Bank's lending direction.
- Create and recommend lending strategies and enhancements to existing product, as applicable enough to meet production goals, ensuring compliant banking practices.
- Update and maintain current policies and procedures to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and the Bank's Loan Policy.
- Ensure the Bank makes its credit products available to all qualified applicants without discrimination, including low and moderate-income applicants and small businesses.
- Establish the staffing and training as needed to implement new products and services.
- Ensure competent, knowledgeable, and motivated staff through training, counseling, supervision, and review of department, individual activity, and results.
- Oversee and supervise production staff in proper communication with new and existing clients to ensure exceptional client service and timely follow-ups.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum seven years of experience in banking and five in a management position.
- Strong sales and persuasive written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image.
- Strong analytical skills with a thorough understanding of all aspects of financial statements, including cash flow and commercial business activities.
- Good knowledge of lending regulations, lien laws, and loan documentation.
- General knowledge of deposit regulations and new account documentation.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person, and over the phone.
- Excellent analytical skills including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to retain a broad knowledge of tasks performed in the lending functions.
- Organizational ability with strong supervisory and management skills.
- Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks; good time-management, problem prevention, and problem-solving skills.
