Overview

VTG is seeking a Systems Engineer III to provide product support and in-service logistics support to the NAVAIR PMA-207 Program Office. Specifically, provide analysis of business processes within the organization designed to provide the Acquisition, In-Service and Sustainment support to the Product Support Manager and Assistant Program Managers for Logistics at PMA-207 Program Office, Patuxent River, MD.


What will you do?

  • Systems Engineer III - In support of PMA-207 Product Support, the Systems Engineer will provide expert application of systems engineering principles to include a demonstrated application of and overall understanding of DECKPLATE information systems, Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) instructions, One Touch Supply data, NATEC data, and Naval Aviation Enterprise toolsets utilized to monitor and analyze the availability status for associated PMA-207 Type/Model/Series aircraft and their associated Mission Sets.
  • Provide PMA Program Management and stakeholders analysis of significant events and trends that would identify movement away from established cost and readiness goals.
  • The Systems Engineer III will be responsible for adherence to policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures associated with aircraft maintenance and supply while recommending solutions that will improve the availability and cost performance of the Type/Model/Series aircraft.
  • The Systems Engineer III will work within the confines of the existing Product Support Organization and make recommendations to processes which are not achieving the desired results.
  • The position supports PMA-207 Program Office within Program Executive Office (PEO)(A) - Air, Anti-submarine Warfare (ASW), Assault and Special Mission Programs. The requirement is for a Systems Engineer III, in support of the C/KC-130 and Fixed Wing/Operational Support Aircraft (VR OSA) aircraft.
  • The System Engineer is responsible for performing a variety of complex project tasks applied to specialized in-service, logistics and sustainment issues. Tasks involve integration of electronic processes or methodologies to resolve total system problems or technology problems. They will apply analytical and systematic approaches in the resolution of problems of work flow, organization, and planning.


Do you have what it takes?

Education: BS or BA degree.

Allowable Substitution: An additional five (5) years of acquisition or logistics management experience may be substituted for a BS or BA degree.

Experience - At least twelve (12) years of experience in operational logistics support or in-service sustainment of weapon system platforms. Experience must include: Four (4) years in the performance of comprehensive analysis across the spectrum of Product Support elements during a job assignment in or in support of an acquisition command/operational command weapon system.

Allowable Substitution: An MS or MA degree can be substituted for four (4) years operations logistics experience.

Work hours will be in direct support of the client; therefore, hours may be fluid at times in order to meet customer/operational requirements. Work schedule flexibility is required. Possible telework opportunities exist per NAVAIR guidance.

DESIRABLE SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Highly proficient with the Microsoft Professional Office Suite including Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Power Point, and Project; well developed written and oral communication skills; ability to assess established maintenance/business processes, identify/document maintenance/business process problems and recommend maintenance/business process improvement initiatives; strong team building skills and ability to develop and maintain a highly integrated network of team members required to successfully execute the PMA-207 mission.

Knowledge of the following areas is highly desirable: a) Life Cycle Sustainment Planning, roles and responsibilities; b) Product Support / Integrated Logistics Support Requirements; c) Navy / Marine Corps / Air Force Command Mission Requirements; d) NAVAIR Sustainment Group Charter and Goals; e) In-service sustainment activity roles and responsibilities and f) Data analytics and Tableau software.

VTG's estimated starting pay range is $100,000-$170,000 annual salary, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
