The role of a Data Analyst is to closely work with Business Stakeholders and Program Operations to successfully complete various projects as assigned. The role will be responsible for developing ad hoc reports and suggesting to perform in-depth data analysis to meet the business need. The Data Analyst is also responsible for troubleshooting and resolving data issues, conducting data research, partnering with the lines of businesses and Data Stewards to deploy and support the data quality cleanup efforts. The Data Analyst focuses on retrieving complex data from disparate sources and condensing it into one simple format where it can be utilized by team members. The candidate in this role must have a basic understanding of project management concepts and techniques and should have the skills to execute the activities necessary to reach the project objectives.
- Collects, evaluates and prepares research and/or other complex statistical data and maintains computerized collection and tracking of relevant data.
- Shares responsibility and collaborates with line of business SMEs for performing data analysis (deep diving) for businesses requests and to design/develop ad hoc reports. Aggregates and performs analysis on data based on requests from project teams or senior leadership.
- Compiles/prepares manual reports of findings, observations and recommendations into statistical and narrative reports. Integrates data from multiple data sources and ensures data accuracy and integrity. Makes updates as necessary.
- Utilize specialized software to analyze and interpret research data (via Excel). Interprets data to identify business trends, conducts root cause analysis of business problems, or suggests areas for process improvement.
- Work directly with program operations to identify, investigate, and resolve technical issues. Writes queries or reports to provide data for various analytical projects.
- Maintain appropriate records of research methods and results.
- Design and/or develop and ensure the quality of specific databases for collection, tracking, and reporting of research data (via Microsoft Sharepoint).
- Effectively communicate project status to management and business stakeholders.
- Upholds the Crawford Code of Conduct.
- Computer/technical skill training.
- Working knowledge of Insurance and Management concepts and techniques.
- Advance knowledge of business support applications such as MS Office (Word, Power Point, Excel, Project) required.
- Strong exposure to SQL and accessing database structures for database systems such as Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server or Microsoft Access.
- Extensive experience in using PowerBI to create story telling visualizations.
- Knowledge and/or experience with business or data modeling is preferred.
- Ability to facilitate effective and efficient meetings to gather information and outline processes.
- Work successfully in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment in which meticulous attention to detail is expected.
- Exhibit exceptional organizational, time management, multi-tasking, and analytical/problem solving skills.
- Takes initiative to accomplish business objectives, seek new assignments, and request to learn more about the business.

- Visual activity requirements are those of Clerical Administrative. This is a minimum standard for use with those whose work deals largely with preparing and analyzing data and figures, accounting, computer terminal, extensive reading, operation of machines, and using measurement devices.
