Job Description

We are currently hiring an Associate Business Analyst, Innovation in Boston, MA.

*A Hybrid position at Boston Beer requires that our coworkers reside within commuting distance to be onsite 3 days a week (Tuesday - Thursday).

The Associate Business Analyst - Innovation is responsible for leveraging syndicated, internal sales, and market data to develop and deliver actionable insights for the Innovation Incubation Team. This role supports data-driven decision-making by managing recurring and ad hoc reporting, optimizing sales processes, and providing analytical support to Sales and Brand Development teams. The analyst will play a key role in go-to-market strategy execution, performance tracking, and post-mortem analysis to drive innovation success.

What You'll Brew:

Data & Reporting Management:



  • Support the data analytics and reporting needs of the Innovation Incubation Team
  • Develop and maintain recurring dashboards, reports, and scorecards to track sales performance, market trends, and wholesaler effectiveness
  • Manage ad hoc data requests, including wholesaler incentive trackers, sales trend analysis, and customer segmentation reports


Business Intelligence & Insights:



  • Conduct sales performance analysis to identify key trends, growth opportunities, and risks for new and existing innovation brands
  • Provide data-driven recommendations to enhance sales processes, pricing strategies, and market penetration
  • Partner with Innovation Leadership and broader Innovation Teams to deliver insights, selling stories, and business cases supporting innovation strategy


Sales Enablement & Strategic Support:



  • Develop on-demand presentations for Senior Management and key innovation partners
  • Assist in creating and executing go-to-market strategies, including distribution planning, key initiative tracking, and promotional effectiveness analysis
  • Educate Innovation Sales and Brand Teams on data interpretation, key performance metrics, and actionable takeaways


Innovation Performance & Process Optimization:



  • Drive Go-to-Market planning deck combining brand and sales needs into a comprehensive approach for launching new innovations
  • Lead post-mortem analysis for innovation launches, identifying success drivers and areas for improvement
  • Improve sales forecasting models, incentive program tracking, and goal-setting frameworks to enhance decision-making
  • Identify opportunities to streamline reporting tools, automate workflows, and improve data accessibility for innovation teams


Cross-Functional Collaboration:



  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Operations) to drive data-backed innovation strategies
  • Support leadership with ad hoc analysis, special projects, and strategic initiatives to optimize the performance of innovation brands
  • Act as a resource for wholesaler and retail sales planning, ensuring teams have access to the right insights and resources for effective execution
  • Occasional travel may be required and is at the discretion of your manager based on the needs of your position


What Ingredients You'll Bring:

Minimum Qualifications and Skills:



  • 1+ years prior analytics experience
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks while setting priorities simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy in an Analyst function
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and project management skills are necessary
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel & PowerPoint)


Preferred Qualifications and Skills:



  • 2+ years of financial/sales analyst experience
  • Prior CPG experience using IRI data, Circana or Power BI
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel & PowerPoint)


Level: 7

At the Boston Beer Company and in accordance with pay transparency laws, we are open about our salary ranges. For this role, the salary range is between $59,500 and $106,000. However, it's important to note that where the person hired starts in this range is dependent on their related experience, skillset and location. Additionally, this position qualifies for an discretionary annual bonus based on company and induvial performance, and certain sales roles might include a car allowance.
