How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW? The Production Expeditor is responsible for ensuring the timely and efficient flow of materials, parts, and assemblies throughout the production process. This role involves close coordination with various departments, including procurement, production, planning, shipping/receiving, and quality control, to maintain production schedules and meet customer deadlines. The Production Expeditor proactively identifies and resolves potential delays, and communicates critical information to stakeholders.
Monitor Production Schedules: Track the progress of production orders and identify potential bottlenecks or delays. Maintain a clear understanding of production timelines and priorities. Material Tracking and Expediting: Track the location and status of all necessary materials, parts, and components. Expedite orders from vendors and internal departments as needed to prevent production stoppages. WIP Inventory Management: Monitor Work In Progress (WIP) inventory. May participate in cycle counts and physical WIP inventory. Communication and Coordination: Act as a liaison between production, procurement, planning, quality control, and shipping/receiving departments. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders regarding material status, potential delays, and schedule changes. Attend production/MRB meetings and provide updates. Problem Solving and Resolution: Identify and proactively address potential issues that could impact production, such as material shortages, quality issues, or equipment downtime. Develop and implement solutions to minimize disruptions. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of material movements, order statuses, and any production delays. Generate reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as on-time delivery, material availability, and production efficiency. Use SAP system or other tracking software. Quality Control Coordination: Work with quality control to address any material defects or non-conformances that could delay production. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve the production process and material flow. Suggest and implement improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize delays.

Education: High School Diploma or GED is required Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a production, manufacturing, or supply chain environment. Prior experience as a Production Expeditor, Material Handler, or similar role is highly desirable. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities. Proficiency in using SAP and Google applications. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain principles. Ability to read and interpret production schedules and bills of materials (BOMs).
The annual base pay rate range for this position in California is $23.00 - $28.00 per hour. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
