The salary range for this role is:

$21.97 - $35.10

Responsibilities:

Ideal pay range will be $25.00/hr - $30.00/hr depending on experience. Please note, this position will sit on-site at one of our DMFC locations.

The Payroll Senior Coordinator is responsible for processing the company's payroll operations. This includes employee pay is accurate and on time, verifying deductions, and complying with federal, state and local tax laws. The Payroll Senior Coordinator works closely with HR, Finance, and other departments to ensure payroll processing is efficient and accurate.

  • Payroll Processing
    • Process employee payroll, including hours adjustments, earnings, and deductions.
    • Review and validate timesheets, attendance and leave records.
    • Meet all payroll deadlines, including distribution of pay statements and/or live checks.
    • Verify and calculate employee deductions such as health insurance, retirement contributions, and garnishments. Ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies related to deductions.
  • Tax Compliance
    • Ensure payroll taxes (federal, state and local) are calculated and withheld correctly.
    • Support the preparation of tax filings and reports for regulatory authorities (i.e., IRS, state agencies).
    • Assist in preparing year-end tax reports, including W-2s, 1099s, and other related forms.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting
    • Ensure all applicable payroll records and employee information is stored correctly per payroll guidelines.
    • Prepare and deliver regular payroll reports to management, HR and Finance teams.
    • Provide process controls to clearly identify and resolve discrepancies and payroll accounts.
  • Audit and Compliance
    • Participate in internal and external payroll audits.
    • Ensure compliance with labor laws, wage laws, and corporate policies.
    • Stay up-to-date on changes in payroll legislation and regulations.
  • Team Collaboration
    • Respond to employee inquiries related to pay, deductions, benefits, and taxes.
    • Assist employees with payroll-related issues, including discrepancies and corrections.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field OR 6 years payroll processing experience.
  • Certification in payroll management (i.e., FPC) is a plus.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in payroll administration or a related field. Experience with mid-large sized manufacturing company a plus.
  • Familiarity with payroll software systems (i.e., UKG, Workday, ADP).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; intermediate or advanced Excel skills required.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of federal, state and local tax laws, tax withholding and reporting, wage and hour laws, and garnishment compliance.
  • Solid knowledge of payroll principles, rules and regulations and demonstrated strong payroll technical skills in a variety of areas including payroll processing, reporting, and payroll taxes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
