Sentry is seeking an individual to join our team as an Associate Reinsurance Claims Analyst. In this role, you will assist the reinsurance team in reporting and recovering claim payments from Sentry's reinsurers. You'll also provide support to others on the reinsurance team, across a variety of responsibilities.

This position will be located at our Office in Stevens Point, WI in a hybrid work model (Monday and Friday work from home if you choose to, Tuesday through Thursday required to be in office).

For this position, Sentry does not offer employment to holders of F-1, J-1, and H-1 Visas.

What You'll Do

As an Associate Reinsurance Claims Analyst you will handle a case load of basic ceded reinsurance claims through identifying available reinsurance coverage, reporting claims to our reinsurance brokers/reinsurers, billing and recovering reinsurance claim payments owed to Sentry.

You will also:

  • Notify reinsurance brokers/reinsurers of significant claim reserve adjustments and file closings

  • Manage a claim reporting and billing task load through use of our direct claim systems

  • Complete billing and claim cession review in Sentry's reinsurance claim system

  • Develop and maintain reports to track claim cessions into the reinsurance coverage layer

  • Assist the team in support of reinsurance claim audits

  • Alert the team of complex claims requiring additional expertise from other team members

  • Handle special projects, including research and organizing data; assisting the team while supporting your continued growth.

What it Takes

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience

  • Prior reinsurance or insurance experience a plus, but not required

  • Ability to work in a team environment; a positive, results oriented attitude, and a growth mindset

  • Experience with Excel is desirable

  • Good human relations and communications skills, both written and oral

  • Insurance coursework beneficial (e.g. The Insurance Institute of America (IIA) courses, including Associate in Reinsurance and/or CPCU designations)
