FPGA and Embedded Systems Experience

Led FPGA bring-up and board-level integration for custom digital systems, ensuring proper pin mapping, clock domain crossing, and signal integrity for high-reliability environments. -
Proficient in writing synthesizable VHDL and Verilog for FPGA designs, with emphasis on timing closure, functional simulation, and formal verification using tools such as ModelSim, Vivado, or Quartus. -
Developed microcontroller firmware in C/C++, interfacing directly with hardware peripherals (SPI, I2C, UART, GPIO, ADC/DAC) and implementing real-time logic for mission-critical applications. -
Hands-on experience with
lab-based debugging and validation, including use of oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and in-circuit emulators for troubleshooting digital and analog hardware. -
Supported
FPGA system integration and testing, including developing custom testbenches, scripting test automation, and writing embedded code for test fixtures and diagnostics. -
Participated in the
full engineering lifecycle: requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, verification, documentation, and production support. -
Familiar with
voltage regulation, memory interfaces, and mixed-signal hardware in embedded system designs. -
Worked in
cross-functional teams for defense-grade and acoustic systems, contributing to successful delivery of rugged, underwater electronics and secure embedded solutions.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or Science or Engineering or Mathematics.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with engineering development life cycle, including concept, requirements, and design, implementation and test phases
- Minimum 5 years of experience with writing technical documentation for embedded systems.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in FPGA design in VHDL, verification and timing closure.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in implementing microcontroller firmware in C or C++.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in digital circuit design.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with Linux and embedded operating systems.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with memory technologies, voltage regulation devices, ADCs, DACs, and common low-level communication interfaces.
- Minimum 5 years of experience with common lab equipment such as o-scopes, multi-meters, power supplies, and soldering.
Preferred Skills:
- OrCAD Capture, Quartus, LabWindows/CVI, Git.
- Soft-core processors (Nios and/or MicroBlaze).
- ARM-based microcontrollers.
- National Instruments data acquisition systems.
