Position Description

Performs support and coordinative work in direct support of an administrative team of a specific administrative office or department. Coordinates and assists with functions such as planning, researching, budgeting and program implementation and evaluation. Performs responsible and complex office support duties, thus relieving the administrator of these duties. Work is performed under administrative supervision.

About the Department and/or College

The Jerry S. Rawls College of Business Administration is AACSB accredited and houses the Lyons School of Accounting that holds separate AACSB accreditation. The college offers the BBA degree with majors in accounting, energy commerce, finance, information technology, management, marketing, and supply chain management. Several formats of the MBA program are offered in fulltime, weekend, and online modalities in Lubbock, the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Houston, and San Antonio. The College offers MS degrees in accounting, data science, finance, and marketing research and analytics. A Ph.D. in business administration is offered with tracks in accounting, finance, management, management information systems, and marketing. With a faculty of over 140 and a staff that exceeds 80, the college enrolls over 5,000 undergraduate and 800 graduate students.

Major/Essential Functions


  • Provides outstanding customer-focused service and serves as first point of contact to all students, staff, faculty, alumni, and employers who interact with the Career Management Center (CMC).
  • Assists visitors with initial questions and redirects to other staff members when applicable.
  • Maintains records of financial transactions with vendors. Submits all P0 requests, tracks and pays invoices, and reconciles monthly p-card transactions.
  • Posts payments from employers and generates receipts for events.
  • Manages the daily process to check students in for employer interviews.
  • Submits event parking requests, and enters daily parking requests for visiting employers.
  • Oversees the reservation process for student study rooms and CMC conference room.
  • Tracks usage of all office supplies and employer refreshments. Orders replacements as necessary.
  • Advertises CMC services by distributing literature and information to students to prepare them for interviews and Career Management Center events.
  • Organizes employer catering orders during student interview periods of the semester.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in job related field plus one year responsible experience. Additional specific job related experience may substitute for required education on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience with TechBuy, Chrome River software, and TTU Procurement processes preferred, but not required.
  • Proven excellence in high volume point-of-contact customer service.
  • High level of professionalism.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn and apply current technology.
  • Well-organized, able to take initiative, and able to work with several projects simultaneously.
  • Previous experience working with students. Knowledge of career services and recruiting environments.
