Maintenance Assistant | Part-Time | Weekdays Only | Hutchinson, MN.

The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance duties in the building and grounds. This position is responsible for providing preventative maintenance, maintenance tasks from work orders as well as what is observed or reported. This position maintains a safe environment for residents, family, staff and visitors.

Ecumen Oaks & Pines is hiring a Maintenance Assistant. Ecumen Oaks consists of 32 assisted living rental apartment homes as well as 9 additional residences for seniors requiring memory care services, and Ecumen Pines offers 50 assisted living residences. Both are located in Hutchinson, Minnesota.

Opportunity Details:



  • Schedule: Part-Time. 35 scheduled hours every 2 weeks. No weekends or holidays. We can be flexible with schedule.
  • Pay: The targeted pay range for this job is $18.50 - $21.50 per hour.

Essential Job Responsibilities:



  1. Performs regular preventative maintenance and repairs as required throughout property.
  2. Assists Environmental Leadership Team to ensure facility complies with all appropriate regulations including local, state and federal laws.
  3. Responds appropriately to fire/disasters. Understands procedures for shutting off equipment and securing building as necessary to reduce hazards.
  4. Assists residents and staff with moving of furniture and other heavy items throughout the facility.
  5. Partners effectively with others in a demanding and changing environment, supports all team members within the community as directed by the leadership team.
  6. Maintains a clean sanitary work area, complies with state and federal rules and regulations, and follows established policies, procedures and practices of the facility.
  7. Performs other duties as assigned.



Minimum Required Qualifications:



  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous maintenance work experience or equivalent training
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats
  • Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident's Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations
