The Postdoctoral Researcher will join the laboratory of Dr. Francesca Cottini, at the Ohio State University in Columbus, OH. This lab focuses on target validation and development of translational therapeutics for patients with multiple myeloma. The Postdoctoral Research will: - train under the mentorship of the PI to conduct research on MM biology and immunology; - will perform in vitro molecular biology techniques, including but not limited to DNA and RNA extraction, conventional PCR, cloning, quantitative real-time PCR, western blot analysis, ELISA, flow cytometry, immunostaining, and in vitro drug testing; -will participate in the isolation and characterization of immune population in the peripheral blood or bone marrow aspirates of patients with MM, as well as isolation of MM patient samples; will collaborate with the PI in writing manuscripts, abstracts, and grant proposals; - will trains and/or supervises other lab staff and monitor and enforce laboratory safety procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations. Essential Duties Breakdown: 45: Post Doctoral Scholar to pursue specialized research training and experience under the guidance of a scientific mentor; conducts research to characterize the genetic basis of human cancers 45: Develops, adopts and implements new laboratory methods to achieve characterization of the genetic basis of MM. 10: Participates in analyzing data for reports for the purpose of grants submissions; trains staff in molecular biology techniques |
