JOB MISSION:
New Balance's Chemical Bonding Specialist II will support for the development and execution of bonding processes, adhesive innovation, and standards for New Balance domestic manufacturing. You will support the Product and Manufacturing Innovation teams, the Engineering Implementation team, and the MADE Domestic and UK Factories. They will also be a member of the Global Bonding organization.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
* Support the adhesive bonding innovation roadmap projects to lead us on our continuous improvement path toward more environmentally friendly processes.
* Perform and monitor a variety of Quality Assurance laboratory related testing functions, including, but not limited to strip tests, wear tests, FTIR, humidity, environmental testing, etc. Document results and observations and provide necessary feedback.
* Maintain bonding documentation, including vendor specifications, manufacturing processes and specs, and pull test results. Library informational files for future use on all testing and process changes related to bonding.
* Maintain files, documents, and changes to chemical inventories for factories. Support training factory representatives in coordination with EH&S on Chemical Review Board policies and procedures. Work with EH&S on chemical review and problem solving.
* Prepare samples, execute experiments, and record data to support problem solving and increase our understanding of the variables that control bond quality. Maintain accuracy and precision through all testing. Document root cause failures, devise, and implement and follow through with corrective actions.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:
* 2+ years of Lab Technician experience plus leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Chemical and adhesives experience required; and footwear experience preferred.
* Six Sigma Green-belt certification; Black Belt certification desired.
* American Society of Quality certifications desired.
* Excellent communication skills required with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
* Strong project management skills are essential.
* Proven ability to analyze, solve problems, and lead a team through problem-solving exercises.
* Desire and experience working with new technology and adhesives to drive innovation.

Flexible Work Schedule
