Job Description
The Pharmacist Resident post graduate year 1 provides pharmaceutical care during all learning experiences and service component throughout the organization in a fashion that adheres to current regulations and laws. This position is responsible for completing all goals and objectives and required competencies for individual learning experiences and the overall residency program Responsible for the filling and dispensing of medication orders including the proper handling, usage, and storage of drugs in the pharmacy. This position maintains standards set by the department and translates policies and procedures into the daily operation of the pharmacy. This position is responsible for acting as an information resource to patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication therapy and drug related information and literature. Incumbents must be enrolled with the National Matching Services' Resident Matching Program (RMP) and adhere to the rules of the RMP process. Candidates are required to submit the following: Letter of intent - describing his/her goals and objectives for the residency program and areas of interest; A current curriculum vitae; An official transcript from his/her college of pharmacy; and Three letters of recommendation. Two letters must be from a preceptor and/or professor. Responsibilities
