This position will be posted from May 7th, 2025 to May 14th, 2025.

Reporting to the Vice President of Retail Finance, the Director, Retail Finance, Global Supply Chain Management, Proprietary Products, Seed and Sustainability is a key strategic member of the Retail Finance department supporting the Retail Business Unit. This role is responsible for evaluating the profitability of our proprietary products, seed business, and emerging sustainability programs. This includes partnering with the commercial business units to provide financial decision support to manufacturing and distribution operations as well as to evaluate investment opportunities for new product registrations, licensing and commercialization. In addition, this role is responsible for supporting the preparation, monitoring and evaluation of long-range strategic plans and annual budgets, leveraging the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) function, and analyzing performance against established financial targets on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

This position will provide financial planning and analytic guidance to and work closely with the Senior Vice President Global Retail Operations, as well as the Vice Presidents of Loveland Products, Global Proprietary Operations, North American Seed and Retail Sustainability.

Our vision as the Decision Support organization is to be the "insights engine" of Nutrien Ag Solutions; this means closely partnering with commercial business unit leadership to provide data driven financial analysis and insight to guide forecasting, capital allocation and decision making. We are looking for a candidate who is an effective leader, innovative, and able to adopt emerging data technology tools to elevate FP&A processes and capture efficiencies.

What you will do:



  • Financial oversight of a global $3 billion Proprietary Products and $2 billion North American seed business (in terms of revenue)
  • Evaluate performance and identify opportunities for enhanced profitability within the proprietary product and seed portfolios, including innovation ventures; communicate clear direction and objectives to senior management for achieving goals
  • Oversee forecasting of inventory and payables and drive improvements in working capital consumption through the seasonal business cycle
  • Oversee managment and optimization of strategic supplier rebate and prepay programs to drive margin enhancement
  • Develop and monitor financial metrics and strategic key performance indicators to assess business performance
  • Develop annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and assist with long range strategic financial plans
  • Partner with commercial business unit leadership to provide insightful and actionable management reporting to ensure sharp organizational focus on critical value creation priorities and levers
  • Collaborate with strategic team to evaluate investment in and profitability of emerging sustainability programs
  • Provide leadership within the Retail Finance Decision Support organization, as well as mentorship and development of the supply chain, proprietary products, seed and sustainability supporting team
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned

  • Provide support and feedback to team members, including communicating team goals and identifying areas for new training or skill checks, and foster collaborative work to reach targets



What you will bring:



  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • MBA, CPA, or CMA strongly preferred
  • 15+ years in finance/accounting; 5 years of financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning
  • Strong integrity and business ethics, as well as sound professional judgement
  • Ability to proactively and independently manage a high volume of competing priorities, while building effective relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders
  • Self-starter with a high energy level, demonstrated success in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment
  • Excellent oral & written communication, analytical, organizational, project management and leadership skills are a must
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems, processes and procedures
  • Solution-oriented with demonstrated ability to collaborate, influence and build strong relationships with key stakeholders, peers, and team members
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and competencies are required



Compensation & Benefits:

$154,500-$286,700. This range is estimated forDirector, Retail Finance, Global Supply Chain Mgmt, Proprietary Products, Seed, and Sustainabilityin Loveland, Colorado. Actual salary and benefits may differ based upon location.

In addition to base pay, this role is also eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan and long-term incentive plan, consistent with the terms of our program(s) where discretionary pay out of awards is reflecting components such as performance of the company and the employee.
