On-Call Cultural Resource Specialist

Kleinschmidt has an on-call part-time opening for a Senior Cultural Resource Specialist position to lead and manage the cultural resources components of a variety of projects, including fieldwork, reporting, and permitting. The position will be based in our Bellingham, WA, Redmond, WA or Portland OR office. Our flexibility and core value of relationships allows us to offer employees the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment including working from the office and remotely. Salary: $42-$57/hour (based on experience) Who You Are A professional with a B.A./B.S (or higher) from an accredited university in anthropology, archaeology, architectural history, or historic preservation with at least 8 years of professional experience conducting construction monitoring activities, field investigations, surveys and project studies, archaeological excavation, artifact identification and associated filed work and reporting. Knowledgeable: Demonstrates experience in the West and Pacific Northwest. Qualified Archaeologist in the state of Oregon, the state of Washington as well as on or working to be on the 'qualified archaeologist' list for the state of California. Efficient in preparing technical documents including Archaeological Inventory Reports, Determinations of Eligibility, Effects Assessments, and Treatment Plans for compliance with Section 106, CEQA, SEPA, NEPA, CA AB 52 and other applicable laws. Excellent communication skills, including writing, editing, peer-reviewing, and public speaking. Excellent interpersonal and management skills. Experience with ArcGIS field maps software and ability to access and process confidential information relating to historic properties, traditional cultural properties and sensitive Tribal information. Familiarity working with SHPOs, THPOs, and accessing state managed databases such as WISAARD, Oregon Heritage and NAHC. Skilled: Ability to prioritize and manage several assignments often with tight deadlines, as well as work as a part of a team. Ability to accomplish tasks in a timely manner, with a track record of meeting deadlines and budgets and producing high quality reports. Additional Requirements
