Purpose:

We're looking for a Compliance & Immigration Manager to join our Houston team.

As a Compliance/Immigration Manager, you will be responsible for surveying the compliance/immigration landscape, setting direction and strategically partnering with stakeholders to expand and optimize the current compliance & immigration program for improved efficiency; as well as, monitoring, analysing, evaluating, and reporting on all aspects of employee lifecycle and Worley processes, from a compliance & immigration perspective.

Responsibilities:

Own and manage HR compliance & immigration for Worley in the US. Stay ahead of trends, communicate, and implement plans and execute for Worley. Proactively engage with leaders to highlight opportunities to improve and deliver work.

Compliance:



  • Work with contracted external vendors to develop and submit necessary Federal and State compliance reports, including: Affirmative Action Plan (AAP), VETS-4212, EEO-1, California Pay Data Report among others.
  • Partner with our in-house legal team to stay informed about new state laws and their implications for our locations; develop and implement actionable plans in response to these changes.
  • Engage with our DEI teams to ensure mutual support for the best outcomes.


Immigration:



  • Act as point of coordination with a small team of stakeholders for US immigration matters.
  • Address questions about internal procedures and immigration processes, letters of invitation from employees and cross-functional partner with support from external immigration partner.
  • Support Talent & Acquisition and department managers with visa assessments for candidates; communicate guidance on options, best practices, costs, and processing times.
  • Manage the immigration lifecycle for all new hires to transfer or obtain U.S. work visas (e.g., H-1B, TN, E-3, F-1, O-1) and current employee visa extensions and permanent residency (L-1, Green Card).
  • Collaborate with Global Mobility to manage the relationship with our external immigration counsel to ensure employees receive the best experience that is high quality and timely.
  • Responsible to deliver strong global immigration processes with controls and monitoring to ensure the processes are actively maintained and continuously improved.
  • Conduct internal reviews or audits of immigration data, processes, and policies.


Additional Responsibilities:



  • Strong attention to detail with timeliness and accuracy to deliver compliance and immigration with strong customer service and consultative support.
  • Conduct/oversee regular discussions with stakeholders to ensure the Company's policies are being followed.
  • Identify any problem areas in implementing or maintaining compliance reporting, and develop solutions.
  • Engage with various business units to enhance program effectiveness and improve data reporting efficiency.
  • Establish an internal auditing and reporting system to measure the effectiveness of the Company's programs, indicate the need for remedial action, determine the degree to which the Company's objectives have been attained.
  • Serve as liaison between the Company and enforcement agencies.
  • Determine whether employees who are protected veterans have had the opportunity to participate in Company-sponsored educational, training, recreational, and social activities, and ensure each Company location is in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Ensure policies are in place to identify any barriers to employment for protected veterans, including those with known disabilities, and assisting managers in developing reasonable accommodations to ensure disabled veterans benefit from equal employment opportunities.

What you will bring

Technical/Industry Experience and Qualifications Requirements:



  • Experience with independently managing and maintaining a compliance/immigration program with minimal support. You will be the thought leader in this role supported by external firms through contracted service.
  • Human Resources Reporting or Compliance experience, specifically including experience with affirmative action programs, VETS-4212, EEO-1, California Pay Data Report related data analysis, and management of OFCCP audits.
  • Experience managing immigration lifecycle for new hires to transfer or obtain U.S. work visas (e.g., H-1B, TN, E-3, F-1, O-1) and current employee visa extensions and permanent residency (L-1, Green Card).
  • Strong knowledge pertaining to visa assessments for candidates, best practices, costs, and processing times.
  • Strong working knowledge of federal and state employment laws, regulatory and reporting requirements, pay equity and reporting requirements, etc.
  • Experience and ability to collect, interpret, and identify relevance of compliance-related information from multiple sources.
  • Ability to review and work with data, conduct analysis to determine applicable trends and make recommendations to stakeholders to drive to positive outcomes.
  • Strong presentation skills and facilitation experience.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.
  • Strong organizational, attention to detail and time management skills necessary to manage multiple assignments in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels within the organization.
  • Experience with HRIS (preferably People Link) and ATS systems, specifically pulling and analyzing reports.
  • Experience with Ethics & Compliance (E&C) Program Reviews, E&C reports, and policies.
