PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The EPC Project Controls Manager at Worley is responsible for leading and managing the entire spectrum of Project Controls activities for EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects. This role ensures the successful planning, execution, and completion of projects by overseeing scheduling, budgeting, estimating, risk management, and reporting. The EPC Project Controls Manager plays a crucial role in delivering sustainable change by supporting projects that balance immediate resource needs with the transition to more sustainable energy solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Develop and implement project-specific Project Controls (PC) execution strategies.
  • Coordinate with Senior Project Managers (SPM) and Project Managers (PM) on reporting, project control activities, and other essential services.
  • Manage the development of procedures for various project control activities, including budget preparation, forecasts, progress validation, and related cost engineering and planning/scheduling functions.
  • Oversee cost engineering activities, including the development and implementation of cost control systems, invoice processing, monthly cost reporting, trending, Forecast at Completion (FAC) analysis, cost variance analysis, funding budgets, and cash flows.
  • Lead cost estimating and forecasting activities, including periodic project re-estimates and development of cost benchmark metrics.
  • Supervise planning and scheduling activities, including the creation of detailed project schedules, progress and performance monitoring, and devising schedule deviations and workaround solutions.
  • Plan and manage the execution of internal audits for critical commercial internal control systems.
  • Facilitate and oversee the risk assessment, mitigation, and contingency planning processes for the program.
  • Coordinate and issue necessary project reports, including progress, cost, and schedule reports.
  • Ensure full integration between estimating, cost control, planning/scheduling, and risk management functions within projects.
  • Manage the development of miscellaneous estimates, including those addressing alternative options, products, and locations.
  • Ensure that invoices are tracked, confirmed, and properly handed off to Accounts Payable.
  • Oversee cash calls and forecasts in coordination with the Finance department.
  • Manage contract administration activities and provide other administrative procedures to projects as required


QUALIFICATIONS / SKILL SET



  • Extensive experience in industrial construction and/or maintenance fields, with a specialization in project controls.
  • Significant management experience, demonstrating the capability to lead teams responsible for planning, scheduling, cost control, and cost estimating activities.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Construction, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale oil/gas and petrochemical capital projects and turnarounds.
  • Demonstrated expertise and understanding of project control planning and scheduling, cost control, and cost estimating.
  • Proficiency in interpreting and analyzing cost and schedule reports and data.
  • Ability to lead Schedule Risk Analysis (SRA) and Cost Risk Analysis (CRA) processes and applications.
  • Experience in the preparation of cost estimates.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as Primavera planning/scheduling, cost control programs, and estimating programs like Icarus.
  • Strong technical competence and ability to work within a diverse cultural environment.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and team-building skills, with a commitment to fostering a collaborative work environment.
