BUILDING ENVELOPE COMMISSIONING AGENT / ARCHITECT

Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time
Hours: 30 - 45 hours per week
Location: Ohio (Most sites are in the Cincinnati and Columbus areas)
Min. Yrs. Experience: 10 years
Education: Formal Building Envelope, Air Barrier and Thermal Moisture Control Training
Salary Range: $40 - $48 per hour, plus fringe, with potential for bonus

Specialty: Commercial, Industrial



  • Must be Authorized to work in the US
  • No relocation assistance is available
  • Some travel required



Job Description: We are seeking a Building Envelope Commissioning Agent to to perform periodic inspections on roofing, exterior walls, windows, and thermal- and moisture-protection systems. This role includes reviewing construction design documents and conducting facility assessments for both new construction and existing buildings.
Roles and Responsibilities:



  • Project management skills;

  • Scheduling and coordinating work to tight construction deadlines;
  • Inspect roofing, exterior walls, windows thermal and moisture protection elements;
  • Facility assessments on existing buildings and other building envelope assets
  • Investigate and diagnose faults;
  • Writing reports and documentation;
  • Computer skills, including expertise in email and MS Office;
  • Interface with design and construction team members to ensure commissioning activities are incorporated and commissioning issues are addressed; effectively filtering and managing documentation is a key element of the commissioning process.



Requirements:


  • Building Envelope training/education with work experience;
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, presentation, and written communication skills;
  • Good descriptive writing skills and the ability to articulate to a non-technical client the essence of the technical requirements that are being enforced;
  • Demonstrated skills in delivering excellent customer/client service and project management;
  • Construction background;
  • Preferably a Registered Architect;
  • Strong experience in construction and construction management;
  • Strong experience in roof and building envelope systems;
  • Strong experience in thermal and moisture barriers;
  • Ability to review construction design drawings for building envelope assets;
  • Ability to inspect and diagnose building envelope faults;
  • Ability to travel at times.

  • Minimum age requirement: 21 years old

  • Must be able to pass a comprehensive drug screening. FSE is a federal contractor and complies with the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988, which requires a drug-free work environment as a condition of employment. This includes substances that may be permitted under state law, such as cannabis.
  • Must be able to pass a background check appropriate to the responsibilities of the position. Background screenings are conducted in accordance with applicable laws.
