Position Summary Information
Position Summary |
Purpose, Scope & Dimension of Job:
- Advise the maintenance supervisor on performance standards and the methods, technologies and procedures to perform routine, planned maintenance and project work.
- Develop knowledge and skill about building technologies and maintenance processes.
- Audit building systems to provide objective data to guide continual improvement initiatives through improved methods, material & equipment and training.
- Participate in and support positive communication within the facilities service group.

Minimum Requirements |
1. High school diploma or
GED.
2. Three (3) years experience performing maintenance in a professional and/or commercial setting.
3. Must have 1 year flooring installation and 10 years of painting experience.
4. Ability to read, write and follow oral/written directions.
5. Must possess manual dexterity to use tools, operate equipment and climb.
6. Knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in maintenance work.
7. Demonstrate experience of safe work practices.
8. Ability to learn to use a variety of maintenance tools, equipment, supplies and materials.
9. Knowledge of chemical substances used in maintenance and their interactions.
10. Ability to work effectively within a team.
11. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
12. Establish and maintain effective relationships with those contacted |
Additional Desirable Qualifications |
1. Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Word, and Excel at the basic level
2. Experience using an on-line work order system
3. Experience with building automation systems.
4. Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, logic diagrams, and spatial directions |
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions |
Unique Aspects of Job: 1. Provide guidance for lower level maintenance personnel to aid them in performance improvements.
2. Work with and under the direction of
MCC Public Safety, local, state, and federal agencies during an emergency.
3. Participates in after hours building monitoring.
Physical Requirements: 1. Ability to walk, kneel, climb, stand, stoop, crouch, reach, pull and do related physical activities necessary in performing maintenance work.
2. Willingness and ability to work in or outdoors regardless of weather, height, location, trade, or time. |
Work Schedule |
1. Full-time - Monday-Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm or 8:00 am-4:30 pm (
TBD)
2. Additional hours may be required to accommodate deadlines, events, schedules, etc.
3. Planned Overtime
4. Emergency Response Overtime: Must be capable of working extended hours in case of emergency situations. |
