Job Description

Position Overview: Reporting to the Vice Chancellor for University Advancement, the Senior Director, Advancement Technology leads a team responsible for application management, database management and analytics, programming, and technology support for Advancement operations.

Key Responsibilities:
* Application and System Management: Oversee advancement-related applications, their interconnections, role-based security, and related training and support.
* Software Implementation and Maintenance: Implement, test, and maintain software applications for Advancement operations; provide end-user support and manage vendor relationships for software packages and data systems.
* Technological Evaluation and Recommendation: Evaluate and recommend technological solutions to meet current and future Advancement needs, ensuring systems are configured and customized according to industry best practices.
* Change Management: Collaborate with Advancement and UMSL ITS staff to scope, configure, manage, and monitor sustainable change management processes.
* Vendor Collaboration: Work with solutions vendors to understand and influence product roadmaps, releases, and integrations, optimizing systems within Advancement.
* Feature Requests and System Upgrades: Identify and manage feature requests and capability development with systems vendors; manage system changes or upgrades and provide training to staff.
* Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with gift administration, biographical maintenance teams, Finance, and other stakeholders to configure targeted solutions, ensuring integrity and accuracy of solution integrations.
* Platform Support: Plan, organize, and support information and engagement platforms, including CRM Advance.
* Data Integration: Develop and maintain data integration and interoperability solutions, including data transfers between PeopleSoft, AcademicWorks, and CRM Advance.
* Security and Monitoring: Work with UMSL ITS to perform systems security testing, monitoring, and reporting.
* Project Coordination: Coordinate multiple projects from development through execution, ensuring alignment with the division's goals and strategies.
* Technology Testing: Develop use case scenarios and execute testing of new technologies.
* Workflow and System Development: Collaborate with UMSL and UM System ITS teams to create comprehensive systems, workflows, and economies of scale for Advancement's data and e-communications.
* Team Oversight: Oversee two programmers/report writers, and database administrator to ensure accurate, sustainable, and repeatable exports, reports, and dashboards.
* Compliance: Ensure systems support and comply with data privacy and constituent consent requirements.
* Customer Service and Training: Cultivate a culture of teamwork, collaboration, accountability, and innovation; ensure consistent and formal training procedures are documented, implemented, and reviewed regularly; provide cross-training to team members.
* Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of all Advancement data systems and processes.

Shift

8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday _ On site work is the preference but remote and hybrid options may be available

Minimum Qualifications

A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

* Minimum of 5 years of experience in informatics and business information systems.
* Demonstrable understanding of and/or experience managing data using modern programming methods (e.g., PL/SQL, MS SQL, Java, C#, PHP, Drupal).
* Experience in higher education advancement and/or the non-profit industry.
* In-depth understanding of CRM systems and data analytics; Microsoft Dynamics experience preferred.
* Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications.
* Attention to detail and maintain a high level of accuracy.
* Must be able to maintain data management standards including data confidentiality, CRM entry requirements, and accessing reporting tools.
* Ability to build and maintain positive constituent and colleague relationships through constructive communication skills and professionalism.
* Must be able to use sound judgement and discretion and maintain confidentiality of data.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
* Ability to work independently while also working as a member of the University Advancement team.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Pay commensurate with education and experience.
Hiring Range: $85,000 - $105,000 Annual
Grade: GGS-12
