Job Description

Position Summary:

Under supervision of the Facilities Engineering leader, the facilities engineer intern will focus on supporting the activities involved with researching, designing and implementing new equipment and systems or retrofits to existing plant equipment, facility repairs, and improvements. Student must be a US Citizen. Candidates must be able to work full-time 40 hr/week or part-time 20hr/week for an equivalent of 800 hours total.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Participate and support the facilities and maintenance engineering team with a focus in either electrical programs or facilities plant engineering projects
  • Assist and support engineers with the design, development, integration and testing of new and retrofitted equipment and facility upgrades
  • Support with planning and research for investigations to collect data, develop equipment, and ensure facility specifications
  • Provide entry to intermediate level technical support to maintenance, production, and quality departments
  • Comply with PCC Code of Conduct requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills:

  • AutoCAD experience with 2D or 3D drawings or layouts
  • Introductory experience reading schematics, single line drawings, or panel layouts
  • Must have excellent mathematical, analytical, problem solving and organizations skills.
  • Possess a strong technical aptitude along with the ability to work independently.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Intermediate in PC programs, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of personnel in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Experience & Education:

  • Must be currently enrolled in a Four-year undergraduate degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $21 to $21 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. Employees will receive 0 hours paid time off every year. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.
