Ensure that quality standards and process controls are being met by performing analytical testing and evaluation of materials and finished product. Cover for QA Technicians who are on vacation. Candidate must actively participate in Bunge's Employee Safety Policy and maintain a safe work environment for self and all employees. Position Details: Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:30am - 4 pm. Vacation coverage will be working Monday - Thursday 10-hour shifts 6:30am - 5pm or 8:30pm - 7am. Starting pay is $17 - $24 per hour based on experience and knowledge. This role is eligible to receive an annual incentive bonus. What You'll Be Doing:
- Perform plant wide food safety inspections and direct observation of CCP's
- Perform calibrations and compliance checks
- Perform verification of FSMA documentation
- Relieve all shifts of QA Techs for vacations
- Perform product start-up, changeovers/50th case and hourly moisture and salt analysis.
- Perform pressure tests on cup seals
- Test slurries for moisture and salt.
- Pull retain samples and evaluate product organoleptically and for shelf life.
- Place nonconforming product on Hold and release product for shipment.
- Perform viscosity measurements.
- Perform peroxide value, free fatty acid, IV and trans fat testing on incoming oil loads.
- Check incoming materials against the Certificate of Analysis
- Make and distribute Certificates of Analysis as directed.
- Make and fill chemical reagents as needed.
- Pull, pack and send out samples as directed.
- Perform microbial and environmental testing and interpret results as indicated.
- Perform pH testing.
- Perform Mettler Drop Point, SFC and Penetrometer testing when required
- Perform allergen testing
- Monitor production processes for proper codes and information
- Maintain QA's production log book
- Keep proper and accurate documentation of all lab testing and procedures.
- Enter test results into the computer
- Prepare and set up for the shift that follows you
- Train all new laboratory technicians
- Maintain a clean working environment. Follow GLP ( Good Laboratory Practices ) and GMP ( Good Manufacturing Practices )
- Perform special assignments and other duties as required.
Training Requirements: GLP, Laboratory and Food Safety. GMP, Allergens, Moisture and Salt Analysis, and Oil Testing. PCQI Training. SQF Requirements: Food Safety Training, HACCP, document control, and verification. Skill/Experience Requirements:
- High School graduate is preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 5 years working in a production environment.
- Must have quality - oriented attitude, able to meet deadlines and keep up with daily work schedule.
- Good communication, and math skills - both oral and written.
- Experience with GLP, GMP, and Food Safety Programs
- Must be able to work flexible hours, this may involve short notice of modified work schedule.
- Must be experienced with MS office platform (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Work requires long periods of standing, and walking in production facility, as much as 80% of the shift.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
