JOB SUMMARY:
The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is a non-profit, bipartisan public policy organization established in 1962 to provide strategic insights and practical policy solutions to decisionmakers concerned with global security and prosperity. Over the years, it has grown to be one of the largest organizations of its kind, with a staff of some 200 employees, including more than 120 analysts working to address the changing dynamics of international security across the globe.
The CSIS Energy Security and Climate Change Program is hiring a program coordinator to oversee a wide range of programmatic components, including executing events, providing support for research projects and program leadership, and managing social media and program branding. The program coordinator will be responsible for key tasks which enable the program to create superlative research products and enhance the program's ability to reach key audiences in government, civil society, private sector, and the public.
We're seeking a creative and contentious talent who shines at developing and executing programmatic activities, demonstrates stellar attention to detail, and brings authentic passion to external communications.
The minimum salary range for this position is $55,000 - $58,000. Salary and title are based on the level of experience and expertise of the chosen candidate.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administrative and Project Support (70%)
* Assist with the coordination of private and public events for the program including conferences, online events, roundtables, and stakeholder briefings.
* Supervise external communication, including dissemination of project publications, strategic outreach, web content, and media products in all formats.
* Develop a strategic social media strategy to enhance the programs visibility.
* Manage day-to-day expenses and financial elements.
* Manage director and program calendars and schedule meetings.
Communications Leadership (30%)
* Assist staff in producing research projects and translating research insights into digital and multimedia products.
* Take on increasing responsibilities in creating program materials, newsletters, media clips, and other external communications.
* Prepare briefing materials and presentations.
KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE:
* B.A./B.S. or equivalent professional experience.
* 1-2 years related research or administrative experience.
* Must possess strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively and concisely present information and resonate with key constituency groups, media, governmental entities, and the general public.
* Demonstrated attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK CONDITIONS:
This position will be based out of our Washington DC headquarters and is expected to be in-office. The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee working in an office environment.
