East Carolina University (

Harriot College employs approximately 450 full-time faculty and staff, and the Dean's Office oversees all budget, personnel and academic matters in its departments, Interdisciplinary programs, centers, institutes, and auxiliary offices. |
Job Duties |
The primary purpose of this position is to work closely with the Pre-Award Grants Manager in the AA-West grants administration hub in assisting research faculty and graduate students in the development and submission of grant proposals to external sponsors. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Assists with identification and dissemination of funding opportunities and interprets sponsor guidelines
- Conducts meetings with PIs as the initial point of contact to assess requirements for grant/contract submissions; establishes internal submission timelines
- Assists PIs with setting up user accounts (NSF, NIH, SciENcv, eTRACS, etc.)
- Prepares PIs for grant submission by assisting with document preparation, collection and review (e.g., biosketches, data management plans, documentation of certifications, etc.)
- Works in the eTRACS system to oversee preparation of less complex proposals, with a focus on NIH, NSF, NEH, EPA, or other system to system submissions
- Posts updates to the College Office of Research website
- Promotes and participates in the OFE Grant Writing Series
- Liaises with Office of Research Administration
- Engages with faculty and staff across campus to improve the timely coordination and submission of sponsored research proposals.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education |
Experience with development and submission of extramural proposals for grants and contracts in a university environment, and/or experience with financial management of grants and contracts in a university environment; demonstrated understanding and appreciation for partnership with faculty, senior administrators, and external sponsor officials. |
