As our Director of User Research and Experience Design, you will help us set the path for the next generation of AI-powered experiences that seamlessly span a user's wearables, smartphone, tablet, laptop and cloud services. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead UI/UX tied to AI software experiences that span IDG ecosystem of devices and service from Discovery, Concept, POR and Launch.
  • Lead the discovery of the behaviors, motivations, needs, and aspirations of our customers to create a differentiated advantage in our ability to build relevant and impactful experiences for global users across consumer, SMB and large-scale commercial segments.
  • Lead definition and delivery of exploratory User Research to rapid evaluation of prototyped ideas.
  • Build and guide Research and Design teams, ensuring that we set ambitious goals and meet new creative pathways.
  • Evaluate and implement action plans based on ongoing market and user research around usability and discovery improvements.
  • Influence broadly across Lenovo organizations from working team to Executive levels, communicating vision, design, KPIs and progress.
  • Be an advocate and spokesperson for AI Ecosystem Design across Lenovo IDG.
  • Co-work with Product pods (SW Dev, PDM, PGM, UI, UX) on iterative sprint cycles to create, develop, ship and improve AI products.
  • Help drive product strategy through rigorous programs of User Research spanning the entire product lifecycle.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Experience Leading User Research and/or Experience Design.
  • Master's or Advanced Degree in Behavioral Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, User Experience Design, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 15+ years of Experience Leading User Research and/or Design for Mobile, Web and Android ecosystems and products.
  • Experience bringing an AI product to market from inception to launch.
  • Demonstrated research skills across qualitative and quantitative methods.
  • Expertise with interaction design in Product and/or User Experience.
  • Expertise translating complex vision to an understandable concept and workable design story.
  • Expertise presenting concepts and designs to Executive and above level business stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate with Design, Software, Hardware and development teams, the technical limitations of design for Mobile, Web and/or Android products.

The base salary budgeted range for this position is $206-208k. Individuals may also be considered for bonus and/or commission. This role is hybrid at our Chicago, IL location 3 days per week with 20% expected travel.
