Summary

Address the changing business needs while delivering robust, secure and stable systems. Overall responsibilities include installation, upgrade, support, and maintenance of OT Systems. Maintains and manages technical support contracts. Oversee growth and maintenance of all layers of the network. Adhere to and coordinate company technology standards. Program automation updates and changes as required by plant.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations related to operational technology and SCADA systems
  • Troubleshooting of system interruptions or network issues causing issues with plant operations.
  • Coordinate and communicate with corporate support staff.
  • Responsible for coordinating and maintaining all systems which connect to a network of any nature including Controlled Entry, NVR video, Industrial Systems Controlling and Monitoring manufacturing, Paging systems, Internal Remote access, Backup and Recovery, Switching and Routing, VMWare, SAN storage.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the business unit is compliant with all necessary licensing requirements and protocols.
  • Performs analysis of network needs and contributes to design of network architecture, integration, and installation.
  • Installs and maintains local area network hardware and software, including servers, peripherals, network nodes, terminals, and wiring.
  • Coordinate issues with local management, discuss with corporate management on scope of completion, and communicate how and when issues can be resolved.
  • Programming updates and changes in the SCADA system and requested by all areas of the plant
  • Training of employee(s) on programming in the SCADA system
  • Review the availability of patches or recommendations on the contracted scope
  • Testing availability mechanisms (HA/DR) at least yearly, including a "restore from backup" test
  • Proactive maintenance applied according to the program standards

Systems and Applications

All systems which connect to the network including Controlled Entry, NVR video, Industrial Systems Controlling and Monitoring manufacturing, Plant Overhead Paging, Internal Remote access, Support requests, Remote Support, Backup and Recovery, Antivirus, Switching and Routing, VMWare, SAN Storage, Databases. Veeam backup and replication.

Client devices and Peripherals

PCs, Barcode scanners, Tablets, which interface with operations

Expected Areas of Competence (i.e. KSAs)

  • Must possess a high degree of integrity.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and deductive reasoning skills.
  • Ability to identify and analyze relevant information to draw conclusions and make informed judgments.
  • Time management skills including ability to prioritize and organize work to maximize efficiency.

Education/ Experience Requirements

IT related Bachelor's degree (B. A.) and three years related IT Management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience in a manufacturing environment and PLC knowledge preferred.

Reporting skills including Dream Reports and SSRS preferred.
