Position Summary |
The primary location of this position is the main Cullowhee, NC campus.
The College of Engineering and Technology (
CET) at Western Carolina University is seeking a passionate and dedicated Transfer Coordinator to join our dynamic and growing college.
In this role, you will serve as a key advisor for transfer and re-entering students in the College of Engineering and Technology (
CET). You'll provide initial enrollment guidance, ongoing academic advising, and program-specific information. Additionally, you'll represent
CET at recruitment events and collaborate with the
WCU Advising Center to streamline the transfer student experience.
Your responsibilities also include developing and maintaining advising resources, participating in program assessment, and engaging in professional development to continuously improve services for students and colleagues. You'll play a vital role in supporting WCU's transfer initiatives by working with community colleges to establish and maintain articulation agreements and by acting as a liaison for industry partnerships related to transfer and distance programs.
Generalized duties and responsibilities include:
* Serve as an initial enrollment advisor for transfers and re-entering students
* Provide developmental, academic advising to transfer and re-entering students
* Work with
WCU faculty and staff and Community Colleges to develop, promote, maintain, and streamline 2+2 degree programs and articulation agreements
* Represent the College of Engineering and Technology at recruitment functions
* Assist with the development, revision, and updating of Advising processes, forms, and publications within
CET
* Maintain appropriate advising records and documentation
* Participate in the assessment and evaluation of academic advising and advising programs
* Participate in ongoing professional development and encourage the growth of colleagues
* Provide advising information and support for the programs within
CET
* Support
WCU transfer initiatives
* Support
WCU Transfer Admissions
* Serve as a liaison with the
WCU Advising Center
* Serve as industry liaison for WCU's transfer and distance programs
* Other duties and responsibilities as assigned in support of the needs of students and the Advising Center |
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position |
Communication: Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
Technology: Experience with Microsoft Office and knowledge of Banner is preferred.

Minimum Qualifications |
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. |
