Overview

We are looking for an office/warehouse/purchasing assistant to fill a full-time position undertaking a variety of tasks relating to purchasing, receiving, shipping, handling, and packaging material. Maintaining inventories, equipment calibration databases, hazmat logs, tool issue records, storage logs and day to day warehouse and office duties in Pascagoula, MS. We support several different ship classes and types at various shipyards on the Gulf Coast. This position will involve all aspects of material and tooling needed for our installation teams. Due to the high number of materials and tooling needed for our install teams, applicants must be first and foremost responsible individuals with great attention to safety precautions and ISO 9001. The ideal candidate must be willing to learn different kinds of tools, materials, and test equipment.



Responsibilities

    Logging and upkeep of all tooling needing calibration services, Hazmat logs, tool issue, tool maintenance and storage logs for all tooling and material.
  • Reporting all task completions and concerns to the Gulf Coast Operations Manager.
  • Working with R&P employees for proper tool/material issue and return.
  • Creation and maintaining inventory logs.
  • Handling all shipping and receiving, inventory for materials and equipment.
  • Material preparation for all team members and tasks.
  • Inspection of outgoing and incoming equipment.
  • Answering phone calls.
  • Maintaining and ordering office supplies.
  • Help maintain cleanliness of office and warehouse spaces.
  • Help maintain and update training logs for all employees.
  • Study, research, and understanding of internal R&P company purchasing policies and QMS processes and procedures.
  • Assisting others to help them understand the purchasing process policies and requirements within the R&P QMS.
  • Assisting in preparations and conduct of purchasing system audits.
  • Reviewing Purchase Requests (PRs) for compliance, completeness, and correctness.
  • Research materials and equipment for quotes and Purchase Requests (PRs).
  • Developing and issuing Purchase Orders (POs) and tracking all materials, tools, equipment, and Other Direct Cost (ODC) purchases as requested by technical personnel.
  • Maintaining all purchasing files and the authorized provider list.
  • Ensuring providers have appropriate assessments conducted and filed.
  • Following-up on receipt of products and services, and resolving issues discovered including Provider Corrective Action Requests (PCARs).
  • Travel arrangements of employees.
  • Performing other office duties as requested by Manager/Supervisor.


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Flexibility with regards to scheduling and planned support to shipboard projects.
  • Must be able to work a schedule Monday - Friday, 40hrs plus flexible to work weekends as needed.
  • Must be PUNCTUAL AND RELIABLE.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Navy DBIDS security credentials.
  • OSHA 10 required or willing to obtain.
  • Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written)
