Public Relations Manager (Raleigh-Durham, NC)

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Fors Marsh is seeking a Public Relations Manager to lead proactive and responsive communications for statewide roadway projects. This role will shape external narratives, coordinate with media and internal teams, and support high-impact messaging on transportation initiatives.

This position is a contingent hire, meaning it is contingent on Fors Marsh winning an upcoming proposal. The interview process will be the same as our standard process, the offer letter (should we decide to move forward) will serve as a letter of commitment.

Key Responsibilities


    • Develop public relations strategies aligned with client goals and project milestones.
    • Serve as a media liaison in coordination with client Deputy Director of Public Relations.
    • Draft press releases, media advisories, and executive talking points.
    • Respond to media inquiries and manage media monitoring.
    • Support planning for events, announcements, and emergency communications.

Qualifications:


    • Minimum three (3) years of experience in public relations, with preference for transportation or public infrastructure experience.
    • Proven track record in media relations, press strategy, and rapid response.
    • Excellent writing and editorial skills.
    • Must be based in the Raleigh-Durham area and available to work on-site at client headquarters.

Location: On-site in Raleigh, NC.

Salary: $70,000-$75,000
