Description

Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Senior Manager of Infrastructure to work on our IT Infrastructure team. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our REC facility with every other Friday off.

Manage, and coordinate with collaboration. Develop and establish operational policies within the area managed. May participate in strategy development for corporate functions. Requires detailed functional expertise and broad company knowledge.

Responsibilities Include:



  • Manage the activities of a department or a discipline through subordinate supervisors and professionals. Provide guidance to your team within the latitude of established company policies.
  • Responsible for the effective operation of activities of major significance to our organization. Decisions impact others in the immediate team and influence methods and techniques.
  • Data Center Operations, Storage management, Cloud architecture and administration, networking, server administration.
  • Prioritize infrastructure projects and present solutions for maturity and scale
  • Analyze technical and serviced based solutions and provide cost-benefit analysis for proposals including on-premise and cloud solutions
  • Managing external vendor relationships including contract negotiations, RFP's and statements of work
  • Manage business continuity and recovery of company's information systems, including needs analysis, design, plan development, implementation and documentation
  • Lead systems administration, maintenance, back up, restoration and performance optimization in conjunction with external support vendors
  • Analyze business needs and establish priorities for protection of critical systems and operational policies
  • Establish and implement appropriate standards and criteria for hardware, software, data center, storage, cloud infrastructure technologies.
  • Ensure the security and protection of company systems and data by maintaining compliance with Adaptive security and information handling policies.
  • Build quality assurance, continuous improvement, safety, security, and data protection processes into standard practices
  • Lead the adoption of new technologies at scale and drive innovation that meaningfully improves tooling, workflows, and technologies
  • Build cross functional relationships to influence engineering and operations across Meta, to improve performance of our global data center fleet
  • Assume the role of crisis manager during large-scale, site-wide, and region-wide production impacting events, serving as the primary point of contact. This requires working cross-functionally to scope problems, mitigate risks, effect fixes, and communicate the nature, status, and resolution plan for incidents.
  • Build a high-performing team with bench strength to ensure business and operational continuity
  • Execute financials, business planning, organizational priorities, and workforce planning. Ensure that budgets, schedules, and performance standards are realistically set and attained.
  • Typically manage employees who perform similar tasks. May manage supervisors, exempt, and non-exempt staff.
  • Receive objective-based assignments and determine resources to meet schedules and goals.
  • Responsible for a single function, location, and technical discipline.
  • Recommend changes to policies and establish procedures that affect the department or multiple disciplines.
  • Help develop overall goals and long-term goals of the department and possibly the division.
  • Work with subordinate supervisors, customers, and functional peer group professionals, involving matters between sections and multiple units.
  • Partner with main contacts outside own area of expertise and other external partners.
  • Communicate results and recommendations across disciplines.
  • Third level of management with human resource responsibilities. Typically, all work is performed through the management of others.
  • You will typically report to a direct report of a Director, Sr. Director, or Senior Leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:




    • Bachelor's degree in computer-related field or engineering and a minimum of 5 years' relevant experience and 3 years of leadership experience.


    • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.


    The ideal candidate will possess:



    • Advanced degree in Information Technology.
    • Certifications one or more of the following: ITIL, Cloud computing, or networking.
    • 4 or more years of leadership experience.


    Job Information:



    • The target pay range for this position is $154,733 - $231,971 annually. The full pay range is $105,516 - $269,052. At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
    • TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.


    Physical Requirements

    While performing the duties of this classification, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, and work in an office and field/laboratory environment. The job requires hand/finger dexterity to keyboard or type, handle materials, manipulate tools, and reach with hands and arms. The job requires the operation of job-related equipment and driving a vehicle. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Sufficient visual acuity and hearing capacity to perform the essential functions and interact with people is required.
